  2. Pumpkin Skeleton: 3/10
  3. Tiger: 9/10
  4. Gold Cat: 8/10
  5. Rainbow Eye: 7/10
  6. Leopard: 5/10
  7. 70s: 10/10
  8. Blank Slate: 7/10
  9. Fox: 8/10
  10. Batman: 7/10

Batman

The theme of my batman look is underestimation. I underestimated:

  • How difficult it would be to create a graphic Halloween look.
  • The difficulty of a mostly black look.
  • How obvious any errors would be because the logo is so famous.
  • Myself and my attention to detail early on in the process.
  • Black face paint and its ability to be removed and fixed.
  • The potential for a finished look to pull everything together.
  • The power of photography and good lighting.

I am proud of my Batman look. My Halloween makeup challenge was mostly to challenge myself and see how difficult of a makeup I could handle. Wow. From watching the video again to seeing the final images, I let myself down by not trusting the process. It looked crazy as I was working on it and some fixes needed to be made.

Now, once they are done, it is clear as day that this is a Batman look. Perhaps next year, I will have the confidence to take on one of the worlds that I truly love: Marvel or Avatar.

Batman was the most difficult look for me. Black is the hardest color to work with because it will show all of your mistakes. Doing a graphic logo that is so well-known also made this much harder. I am so proud of my final look and I rated it a 7/10 in the video. Looking back at it now, I was too hard on myself and I believe it deserves a 9/10.

With this being my 10th and final look of the series, I wanted added all of my ratings to the top. My total score is a 71/100 or about an average score of 7. My terrible Pumpkin Skeleton brought it down so much, but at least it is a passing grade (barely)! If we update to exclude my Pumpkin Skeleton and use my updated Batman score, I have a 77/90 or 7.8 average. Time allowing, next year, I am going to try this challenge (with different looks) again to see how much more I can improve.

Happy Halloween! Do not let today be the only day you creatively express yourself.
